Meryl Streep: “Box-Office Queen”

Meryl Streep proves that she can still hold her own when it comes to making great films. The two-time Oscar-winning actress looks graceful on the January cover of Vanity Fair magazine. Here are some snippets from the interview.

On life after 40 for women in Hollywood:

“It’s incredible—I’m 60, and I’m playing the romantic lead in romantic comedies! Bette Davis is rolling over in her grave.”

On her current life:

“I’m very fucking grateful to be alive. I have so many friends who are sick or gone, and I’m here. Are you kidding? No complaints!”

On the celebrity lifestyle:

“I hate to have my picture taken!”
