Keira Knightley Won’t Star in ‘My Fair Lady’ Remake
Keira Knightley will not be portraying Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady – a role made famous by Audrey Hepburn in the original musical movie.
Although the 24-year-old actress was never officially offered the part, she did meet with the producers and even took singing lessons, but decided that the role wasn’t for her.
Producers, Cameron Mackintosh and Duncan Kenworthy are now looking for another starlet for the role. An Education star Carey Mulligan is rumored to be in the running as well as Scarlett Johansson and Anne Hathaway.
Although Knightley won’t star in My Fair Lady, she has signed on to star in The Talking Cure, where she will act alongside Inglorious Basterds stars Michael Fassbender and Christoph Waltz.
Waltz and Fassbender will play psychologists Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung respectively, who help Keira’s character deal with the physical violence she endured by her father.
