Robert Downey Jr. Wins Golden Globe
Robert Downey Jr. won the Best Actor Golden Globe for his role in Sherlock Holmes.
The actor gave a funny speech where he said:
“If you start playing violins, I will tear this joint apart.”
He thanked his wife, Susan, for telling him that Matt Damon was going to win and “don’t bother to prepare a speech. That was about 10 a.m.”
“Avatar was going to take us to the cleaners,” he continued. “If they didn’t have me, we didn’t have a shot. What am I going to do? Thank Joel Silver, the guy who’s only restarted my career 12 times since I began 25 years ago? I really don’t want to thank my wife because I could be busy tables at the Daily Grill if not for her. Jesus, what a gig that would be.”
