Penelope Cruz Joins ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 4′
Penelope Cruz is in negotiations to join the cast of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, the fourth installment of the franchise, which will be directed by Rob Marshall.
Cruz previously worked with Marshall on Nine.
Depp will be reprising his role as Captain Jack Sparrow, and although the plot of the movie wasn’t revealed, it will somehow revolve around the Fountain of Youth.
According to THR, Cruz will “be Sparrow’s foil and equal in many ways.”
Production for Pirates is set to begin this summer in Hawaii and Disney is planning for a May 2011 release.
