Ziyi Zhang: New Mulan

Ziyi Zhang will portray the young heroine soldier Hua Mulan in an independently-produced version of the Disney animated film.

The Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon will begin shooting the film this fall outside Shanghai.

Speed and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider director Jan de bont will helm the film.

Zhang will also be appearing in The Grand Master, which tells the story of martial-arts master Ip Man, the man who trained Bruce Lee
