Sarah Jessica Parker: Elle Magazine January 2010

Sarah Jessica Parker rocks a green Halston Heritage dress on the January cover of Elle magazine. Here’s what the 45-year-old actress opened up about:

On aging naturally:
“I don’t know what I can do about the aging. Yes, I am aging. Oh my God, I’m aging all the time. It’s like those flowers that wilt in front of you in time-lapse films. But what can I possibly do? Look like a lunatic?”

On her reaction to being offered the position of President and Chief Creative Officer at Halston and Halston Heritage:
“I kept saying, ‘You understand, by offering this you are going to be criticized?’ It took me a long time to say yes.”

On meeting the twins after their birth: “[Meeting them] is hard to describe. Everything is suspended. I can’t even tell you what other sounds were in the room. I loved them immediately, but everything—their size, the shape of their heads, the color of their hair, their noses, their eyes—was new to me. They looked surprisingly different from James Wilkie, which I wasn’t expecting.”

On taking her role at Halston very seriously:
“I said, ‘Please know this now: I will never do this for a title. I will never dip in and out of this. I’ll do it like everything else I’ve ever done. I’ll be involved down to the splitting of the atom.’”

Sex and the City 2 Cast Covers Entertainment Weekly

Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon flaunt their stuff on the cover of this week’s Entertainment Weekly issue.

Here’s what the ladies had to say:

Parker on wearing designer clothes while shooting in Dubai: “Kim and I had this camel that without any warning would just sit down whenever he wanted. And we were dressed like lunatics! Designer couture on camels. And I mean Couture. I had some vintage Dior pieces from the couture archives on a camel.”

Davis on meeting her fellow castmembers: “Our first day on the set, Sarah Jessica had this big thing of Krispy Kreme doughnuts, and she invited me to her trailer. She [said] ‘Let’s hang out and get to know each other.’ We had 18-hour days, so we bonded pretty quickly. The most famous person on the set, you take their lead.”

Sex and the City 2 Cast: Marie Claire June 2010

The Sex and the City 2 cast rocks their own individual covers for Marie Claire.

Sarah Jessica Parker rocks Balmain – the same dress Demi Moore wore on the cover of W Magazine – Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis wear Dior and Kim Cattrall dons Valentino.

Here are some highlights:

Parker on the demands of working on the film: “When you’re on set, you’re working 90-hour weeks, you’re never home, you’re exhausted. There are times when all of us have been sensitive, and sometimes feelings get hurt. But I don’t have any regrets about how I’ve treated people.”

Davis on how they used to let loose: “When we first started, we would all drive out to the Hamptons together at 4 a.m. on a Friday night after shooting ended and see the sunrise as we arrived. I love those memories.”

Parker on being influenced by Carrie’s style: “I’ve never revealed as much or been so daring or made quite as many triumphant mistakes as Carrie. But I’m now bolder than I would have been had I never played this part.”

Cattrall on the rumored infighting between the ladies: “The press has to put women in these boxes, rather than show them as the movie portrays them: working together and being powerful. Things just have to be explosive for no other reason then for people’s imaginations.”

Sarah Jessica Parker: Glamour January 2010

Sarah-Jessica-Parker-Glamour-Magazine-January-2010Sarah Jessica Parker dons a Oscar de la Renta sequined bolero jacket and Christian Louboutin heels on the cover of the January 2010 issue of Glamour magazine.

On how her style has changed throughout the years:

“It’s just simpler. I don’t buy anything trendy. I used to be more easily seduced by some momentary idea of what was fashionable. Now I’m slightly savvier. I still have the same ideas in my head about what looks good on me and what doesn’t.”

On juggling motherhood and her career:

It is the eternal conflict of every working woman, and I am not complaining, because I’ve done this to myself. And I have a wonderful, wonderful nanny who allows me to be a working person. The great challenge for me is to be all things to all people; I want to be a great mother, and I want to feel good when I’m at work. But it is hard.

On her modest beginnings:

I feel lucky because [my background gave me] an appreciation for sitting here and having this tea and drinking out of this cup. I am not blind to it. I don’t want my children to feel they have a sense of entitlement. I want them to work hard and be challenged. That’s hard to do when you have everything you need and want, so I am working on those values all the time.

Where she sees herself in 10 years:

Being so greedy, I would like more of the same. Most important to me is my home life and the well-being of my children. Everything as it is now would be thrilling.

Parker can be seen next in Did You Hear About the Morgans? alongside Hugh Grant.

The January 2010 issue of Glamour will hit newsstands on Dec.9.

Sarah Jessica Parker is ‘Elle’ Lovely

sarahellecoverSex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker looks stunning on the cover of Elle’s December issue. The usually private actress opens up about life on set and the smell of diapers.

On rumors of not getting along with Sex and the City co-star Kim Cattrall:

“I don’t think anybody wants to believe that I love Kim. I adore her. I wouldn’t have done the movie without her. Didn’t and wouldn’t.”

On using a surrogate to carry her twins:

“I knew there would be lots of opinions about, ‘Well, why didn’t you adopt? Why didn’t you do this? Why didn’t you do that?’ and the truth of the matter is, it wasn’t one or the other for us. We had explored, and continue to explore all options, and this one just happened first. This isn’t the period at the end of the sentence.”

On being a hands-on mom:

“I love the smell of diapers; I even like when they’re wet and you smell them all warm liked a baked good. I love the smell of Balmex. Love it.”
